We serve individuals with developmental disabilities. We provide Residential Services in the community that allows these individuals the opportunity to thrive as independently and with as much dignity as possible in their lifetime.
According to the CDC, Developmental disabilities are severe chronic disabilities that can be cognitive or physical or both. The disabilities appear before the age of 22 and are likely to be lifelong. Some developmental disabilities are largely physical issues, such as cerebral palsy or epilepsy. Some individuals may have a condition that includes a physical and intellectual disability, for example Down syndrome or fetal alcohol syndrome.
Individuals with developmental disabilities need health care and health programs just like everyone else in order to stay well, active, and a most importantly, remain a part of the community. Individuals with disabilities are able to live long, happy, healthy lives. There are some health conditions, however, such as asthma, gastrointestinal symptoms, eczema and skin allergies, and migraine headaches, that have been found to be more common among individuals with developmental disabilities. Magnolia Gardens insures that our residents are connected to that care they require.
